SINBOSEN Amps?
« on: July 17, 2019, 10:21:11 PM »

I've been seeing an awful lot of chatter about SINBOSEN amps (better known as the LG counterfeit amps) and I'm almost tempted to buy now just to see what it does.

Curious to know if anyone here has their hands on one and how they actually perform?

Fascinating - they even do an XR16 clone - how ironic...

The hi-fi guys really seem to like them, I wouldn't trust them out in the field, though. At least not for very long.

I question the rationale of supporting counterfeiters.

I don't think it's valid to call them counterfeiters, as it appears that they clearly market these amps under the Sinbosen brand.  It would be counterfeiting if they put the Lab Gruppen name on and marketed them as Labs.

So, you're then down to what level of copying/inspiration is acceptable.  It would appear that these are at the most blatent end.

Yes to copying and IP misuse.  But not counterfeiting in my book.

In my NSHO, they are selling a product that is meant to look and advertise like a legitimate one. Copying IP, and likely took a real one apart to reverse engineer it.
Ya, it's a counterfeit.
Just because it doesn't SAY Lab Gruppen....
Ever see a fake Rolix ?
I have. Only 75 bucks....

IIRC they were represented as L-G product early on.  The intention was clear - steal the IP of Lab Gruppen, represent it as L-G or "as good as" and make their money by theft of IP and good will.

We're talking about degrees of thievery, not degrees of honesty.

What's more is they even use the same model numbers of the L-G amps they're copying, literally no shame in this game.
