MY Drive Rack 260 keeps crashing
« on: May 21, 2006, 07:46:40 PM »

This is the third show in a row that my drive rack has crashed.  I thought it had to do with the interface between the the Drive Ware and the unit itself, so I ran the show last night with out the computer hooked up, and it still freaked out.  It is displaying a meter bridge failure.  I took a pic of the display so you could see what I am talking about.  When it does this there is no imput or output.  The unit freezes like a computer would freeze.  I am sending the unit back tomorrow, but I wanted to see if any one had seen this problem.

Thanks,
Brad Gibson

If it is a unit with a fan, you have to disconnect it. I had a different problem that was solved by disconnecting the fan. This was advised by DBX. The newer models do not have the fans.

Just curious - did a power reset get you back running or was it a complete show stopper?

The power reset got me back up and going.

I did some tests last night and it is confirmed that the GUI is not the problem.  I pluged and unpluged the serial cable 100 times and it will not duplicate in my shop.  Im begining to think it has something to do with a voltage drop?  Does any one have any ideas how to duplicate this condition?

Thanks

It called an autoformer or a Vari-AC.  Allows you to progressively lower the voltage to see at what point you will have problems.
