Hello all, I'm an audio guy who contributes frequently in the Lab Lounge. I've searched this forum, but didn't find the answer I need. Video is not my expertise. Please help.
-----------
My church has asked me to research and buy a new projector. We use a video switcher so a bright and accurate image is more important than extra connectivity options, bells, and whistles.
Current projector--SHARP XG C55, (3,000 lumens, I think)
Main complaint-- not bright enough, washed out
25 foot throw, 12' DALITE wide screen, matte white.
Hangs from a proper mount, 0 degrees tilt.
Currently using VGA cable, RG59 installed but not used.
No windows but there is ambient light from the non-directional translucent light canisters (we've done all we can without replacing fixtures).
Song lyrics w/backgrounds, and Powerpoint are the main uses.
Occasional video clips.
We borrowed a 6,000 lumen projector and saw significant difference in brightness, color accuracy, and readability.
The REAL question--What is the best brightest projector for $5,000, firm?
Where to buy? We'd like to have it by Easter.
Thanks in advance for helping!
