What does the P stand for in LpAeq?

I've never seen the "p" in an LAeq definition before, and I can't figure out what it means. Should be a simple google-search, but not today..

Loudness Pressure? As from the older SPL, sound Pressure level? Or what does it mean?

The "p" is a way of abbreviating "pressure". L = "sound level", Lp = "sound pressure level".

I am only seeing it in UK and German transportation noise publications. I haven't seen that abbreviation used in the US.

This is from a Norwegian publication by the health department for sound levels in the entertainment industry.

What I thought. P for pressure.
