"on-line" practice mixing
« on: April 26, 2024, 09:41:55 AM »

Is there anything like a mixing console online that someone could use (a virtual mixing console) to practice mixing a band (virtual band) -- all online?

There's a few people I know that are wanting to learn how to mix and how to use a mixer (in its simplest form).

Anything like this exist?

I don't know if A&H has an online simulator for the mixer that is all web based, I think they used to.

Do they have any kind of tablet?  If so download Mixing Station and go to town!

If they have an iPad the world is there oyster you can download A&H Dlive or Avantis software, Digico and I don't know about Avid.

Have fun

Mixing Station is likely the best bet.

Hi Bob, I believe any DAW should work but yes there are virtual consoles (with eq, compressors etc) available at https://harrisonaudio.com/. They can get free multi-tracks for practice at https://www.cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/

Reaper can do this as well, live virtual mixing, just supply tracks.

Thanks.  Had not considered Mixing Station; I don't think some of the people I've talked to have iPads, which is why I was thinking of something 100% internet based.  Though, I will take a look at the A&H software.

Hi KC!  Good to see you on the forum!

Well, had not considered the Cambridge tracks... this would give them what they need all on their own PCs (or iPads... I think).  This may be better than a 100% internet solution.

Perfect.

Thanks again all!
