Has Anybody used Battery Supplier.com in Brooklyn
« on: March 16, 2021, 02:33:16 PM »

Hey, All

The Subject line says it all.  Have any of you used Battery Supplier. com based in Brooklyn NY?  Are they any good? Any Problems?  They have REALLY GOOD prices on all kinds of batteries. I was looking at getting 200 AA  Energizer MAX for less than $100.

Thanks.

That doesn't sound like a "really good price" to me; Home Depot will sell you 200 AA Energizer MAX for less than $100, too.

Brooklyn + really good price to me sounds like one of the many grey market importers.  Buyer beware.

Those prices seem high to me. I get Duracell AA batteries for CDN $0.45 from our supplier. Any quantity.

Mind you, I haven't ordered any since September.

If you're buying lots, look into rechargables.  Save lots in the long run.

People still buy Leakycells? I think Varta, Panasonic or GP are the recommendations over here, with Duracell as a last resort.

I've never had a Duracell leak on me in regular use. Or any other brand. And we used to use a ton of them with 6 shows a week and over a dozen w/less units.

Sitting around for extended periods is a problem with any battery. Mine were removed back in April and I don't expect to be putting them back until Christmas.

I’ve never had a Duracell leak when in live use, but I’ve had it happen in a mic that went unused for 3 weeks. Yeah, I know, remove batteries after every show, but sometimes you forget.

Rechargeable batteries don’t have that problem.

3 weeks? That would turn me off Duracell or any other brand as well. Guess I've been lucky.....so far.

BTW, my preferred battery for price and reliability over the years has been Ray O Vac. But my preferred supplier doesn't carry them.

I know on the various other forums I frequent Duracell's are seen as junk (i.e. Vintage-radio.net).
If buying in bulk I now use Varta, no long term results but they are made in the fatherland and many moons ago my Mum worked for the UK branch in Crewkerne. They seem to be good value in the UK
