Streaming music from soundboard out to lobby
« on: May 25, 2019, 10:33:05 AM »

Not sure if this is considered "wireless" but wasn't sure where else to put it.

We are in a public school using their sound system, but we want to send the FOH mix out to some wireless speakers in the lobby.  I can get the mix from the console to a cable, but not sure how to stream it outside.  We have our own router and wifi network I can tap into.  I was thinking of using something like a Sonos speaker but not sure how that would work. The Sonos speakers have a line-in but that is only tied to that speaker; I don't think you can stream that line-in source over the Sonos network.  Sonos has a Connect device but that takes streaming audio and patches it to a stereo.

Hope this makes sense what I am trying to do.  Any ideas?
