Shure GLX-D motorboating

GLX-D mics doing a chopper motorboating thing to the audio. Is that wifi interference? Rescanning doesn't fix it.

All receivers, all the time, in all venues?  Has anything in your rig or in your set changed?  Anything that uses cell phone connections like a hot spot?

All four receivers in this venue. Different receiver in another venue. Both difficult rf environments. I have no history on them, these are service calls.

Any idea how far they are from the receivers when they do this?
Do the different venues have WiFi installed in them?
Do they do this when microphones are not attached?

It's almost surely WIFI interference, although you might also check that all Ethernet devices and cables near the receivers are shielded or Cat-6.

I had the same issue. Never found a fix.

Within 15 feet, yes, and this is a modulation of audio, so no.

Every time I have a GLXD come into my main venue, I let the performer know that it may or may not do this. When it does, it's so bad that it's unusable. We have an LED wall upstage, within several feet of the mics and receivers. But since it's not always a problem, I can't tell for sure if that's the cause or not. I wouldn't recommend GLXD, I find the BLX4R better fills the lowest price wireless niche.

Dan,

Tell the venue that they are out of luck. The GLX-D line should just go away.

That's the conclusion we came to.
