Powersoft Marketing
« on: October 01, 2018, 02:43:02 PM »

I just received Powersoft's marketing communication announcing their latest rejiggering of Armonia, the Windows control application for their DSP amplifiers. I think the translation from Italian into English makes it all the more charming:  "...which will bring smiles into the grumpy system engineering world." and "ArmoníaPlus places you at the center of the stage, giving you the ability to always monitor the headroom so you know if you need to bring it down a little or if you can release the Kraken." Release the KRAKEN??? Sounds like German to me, whatever, I love it.

--Frank

Edit: I looked it up. It's Norwegian and refers to a squid-like sea monster. I'm afraid of releasing the Kraken when, say, bending over to place a kick drum mic.

Frank, whether or not you Release the KRAKEN whilst setting the kick drum mic depends mostly on the length of your shirt tail.  Plumbers have a similar issue, as do 400lbs stage hands that think a crouched run in full stage light makes them invisible.

As the Duluth Trading Company catalog famously said, "Just say no to crack".

I recall about a decade ago I was looking at sweaters at J. Crew.  The young sales clerk walked up to be and said "sir we don't carry your size, if you try that on and stretch it out you will have to buy it.

I wanted to call my lawyer.

What?  No Jenny Craig?

After looking over the biggest human I'd ever seen in leather, my buddy said "man, I didn't know steers came in your size."

Thank you, Randy, for cluing in this out-of-touch old guy. As a Powersoft user I shall henceforth release the Kraken (their capitalization, I guess it's a proper name -- there's just one Kraken?) when I formerly would have gone full tilt boogie. --Frank
