Tom Petty..Bad News?

I just heard a report that Tom Petty passed today from a heart attack.

Anyone else heard this?

The g-search shows no reports of his death at this time (2:45pm, 2 Oct 2017), other than some fake news published about a month ago and de-bunked again today.

I saw it on a TMZ report today...you know they would never publish fake news

NY Daily News is reporting in hospital, cardiac arrest, and has been removed from life support...

Maybe search again. Multiple reports of being taken off life support after being found at home unconscious.

Robt. Scovill believes the report and has gone off Facebook till more is known.

Very sad situation.

He is officially reported as dead at 66.  Loved his work.  Back in the 90's when I lived in Gainesville, Fl. he would be seen around town and at Gator games. 

Too young, another sad loss.

Indeed sad news, a true icon.
But then it gets "Strangered in The Night."  Some confusion.  Some sources say it is official. Some say unconfirmed, some say not true.
