In a pinch, a couple of flex shaft reading lights can get you by.

My first thought was the LittlLite brand, but their LED console light costs around $80, ridiculous.
The Hosa LED light looks like a decent deal at around $23.00.

I've used the Hosa branded LED console lights, and the beam is incredibly narrow. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I think I could only see an area about 10" wide with an 18" gooseneck. It was an older Yamaha 40 channel house console in a theatre. It had 3 lamp sockets, and with those Hosa LED's I could basically see one bank of 8 channels per light. Or two banks and most of the master section. I can't remember if I could see the whole bank from top to bottom though, but I'm guessing not. It was so bad that I grabbed my own lights out of my workbox and changed them out for that show. I wasn't impressed with the Hosa LED's.

The Littlite LED lamps are awesome, but expensive. I use them at my day job and they're great. The beam is plenty wide and lights up a large area, and the light color is a lot less blue than the Hosa's (as if that matters at all).  You get what you pay for, I think.

I only own the Littlite incandescent ones though. I got about 15 of them on Ebay for $50, so I can't complain.

I have goosenecks galore, freestanding, bnc, xlr, q5, led you name it. You want to know what I like the best?

I use a gooseneck reading light with a 25 watt bulb in it that I bought at Goodwill for $5. Covers the entire mixer. Had it for 10 years.

That thing is stupid bright and the goose neck stupid long.  Never used it for mixing but we have a few at the office that are almost 2 years old.

That thing is stupid bright...

Talk to the squint du jour and get a scrap of lighting gel.  That and a small piece of Scotch tape will knock down the lumens.
