It would be some sort of space mapping-like LCS used to do.  You just map out the zones of where you want the sound-then move to the area during the recording.

It is not something that happens quickly-it takes a good bit of time to pull it off-but can be impressive.

You can move sound all over the place.  Of course it takes an amp(s) per location and output per location-so it can get expensive quick.

But it all depends on what you are trying to do-and what it is worth (in time and money).

They'd only be able to replicate the Doppler effect of the car screaming by for particular locations on track, though, wouldn't they?

Kind of a strange experience listening to an F1 engine without instantaneous gear changes... that's been a while.

That's a pretty awesome demo though.

The speaker look like Funktion 1 gear. It's found mostky in europe and owes it's legacy to Turbosound.

Bullwinkle: This is the amplifier, which amplifies the sound. This is the Preamplifier which, of course, amplifies the pree's.

The recording process is a large part of making it work.  It that is done wrong-it starts to fall apart and the end result is not as good.

I was going to say Turbosound, but I think you would be more correct. The horn is always a give away with those boxes.
