Cat5 Cable
« on: November 28, 2012, 09:12:07 AM »

I'm going with the digital snake for my Si Compact.

I'm looking for a good place to get the proper Cat5 cable for this application. It needs to be jacketed and flexible with XLR connectors to be run on the ground...like a regular snake. Who makes these?

Thanks

I use these:
http://www.tmb.com/Pdf/ProPlexCAT5e-A4-web.pdf - specifically the PCCat5EP.  Stranded conductors, shielded cable.  I ordered mine with Ethercon ends, though there are other choices too.  This is listed as specifically compatible with the A&H stuff.  I presume it would also be qualified for other systems.

Mike Pyle can get these.

Jamin, I don't know how long you need, but there's a post in the Marketplace with some 100ft. lengths of Duracat for sale on eBay listings.

I use Duracat. You cat buy it precut with ends or in bulk and make your own length.

Make sure it is shielded, unless the spec is different from the Vi series.
