Laptop DI Box - Which one are you using?
« on: March 20, 2012, 11:27:02 AM »

I'm starting to get into more presentation style events and I'm looking into getting a few DI boxes to put on our podiums. I just wanted to ask everyone here what they liked bested.

Thanks

ARX - USB-DI. No need for special drivers and it sounds great.

Not Mac compatible though.

Really? If id doesn't nee drivers and is a standard USB audio device, how can it be not Mac compatible?

The Peavey is less money though and it works and sounds fine.

Duck's Echo/Black Dog Audio has a nice one as well.

If they finally have product they are doing a good job of hiding it under a rock.

*fuzzy memory alert* I think Andy L. mentioned on the google theater sound group that they'd made a short run (50 pieces?) and decided to make a couple of changes.  The original run was for sale and, IIRC, and they were taking orders for the revised units.  You might try contacting Andy directly.

+1 to Riley,

I think I've emailed/called a couple times in the past with no result.

I tried some searches on the theater sound list and didn't see anything recent like Tim has described. oesn't mean it's not there however.

Does any one have a link to Black Dog Audio? Their name is pretty much un-googlable (as is Duck's Echo Sound).

Thanks

Not true. Arx USB DI works with Mac book pro without any issues...
