It moves the cursor on the game of Pong up on the wall.

I got to tour a nuclear power plant last weekend and yes, they let me in the control room!

They did not allow cameras in the control room.
However, they had a simulator room that was an exact replica and they did allow them there!
Every knob, button, switch, indicator, you name it.  (even the same pictures on the wall)

It was set up for training so we weren't allowed to touch anything, but it was okay to get close and look things over.

So what was that lever?
