Hi,

I remember a time that most in NYC, where a lot of the music engineers used the EAW SB250 for their subs. Now, most of them are using the 808 or 801.

Personally I have the SB 250 and I have heard the 801 and while their is not much of a  different in sound, I believe the SB 250 a little bit better.

Any thoughts?

I'm curious too.  A friend of mine is in a band that uses the SB250 subs.  Everytime I've gone to listen to them the subs sound great and get pretty loud. 

I'm interested in adding the LS801P to my rig.  If they sound similar and have about the same output as the SB250, then I will like them.

Hi, I don't know about the Yorkville subs, but the EAW subs have improved.  The newer SB250z is an improvement over the older SB250. While the older SB250 have the RCF L15p200ak, the SB250z have 18sound drivers with a larger, deeper magnetic structure.  I have seen it myself!  Also I can say the SB250z do seem to improve on the lowest octave.

All that just to say that the SB250's that you heard in the past are not the same as the new ones that are being sold today.
