Banned on some devices
« on: March 30, 2022, 05:08:24 PM »

Hi!

On my iPad and a windows PC I’m apparently banned, but can access from my phone. I get the message “Sorry richard_cooper you are banned from using this forum! This ban is not set to expire.” I can post via my phone so presumably something is wrong.

Any ideas I’ve tried logging out, but apparently I’m even banned from doing that!

Thanks

Are you running a VPN? I have had this happen a few times. Turning it off and clearing cache / cookies seemed to clear it up. I always assumed it was VPN related because it only happened when it was on.

Nope, no VPNs on, now I’m in work I’m banned on my office machine as well, but phone still works fine. Moderators?

I had this problem a while back and cleared my cookies and other browser data and was able to log in again.

If it's at work then it's probably blocked by your IT department's policies. Our policies here are quite strict but I'm still able to log on to this site.

If it's not that, do like others have said or try a different browser.

That's funny. I'll have to mention that to my system admin. He seems to enjoy blocking sites and countries.

FWIW, I just had this happen and clearing cookies/cache seems to have cleared it and returned me to normal access.

I get it all the time, and sometimes it lets me in sometimes it doesn't - but it also depends on which forum section I select. Just random.

Add me to the list. I thought that the forum was down.....

My computer is in a normal home network. No vpn stuff going on here.
