Curious to hear from Si, Qu, and X32 users in Blue Ridge + Gateway South + Midwest regions.  Recent (2013+) purchase and service stories.  Looking to develop a realistic set of expectations, prior to jumping on the MI-digital-console bandwagon.

Thanks in advance.

Si, Qu, & X32 - Near South + Midwest - recent purchases & service

Here's what I have encountered, central Kentucky wise.

Out of the handful of pro audio retailers within a 100-mile radius of me:  None have a Si console in stock.  No X32s either.  My local Guitar Center has a pre-chrome Qu-32.  So I'm going to work on getting a demo of the A&H.

EDIT:  Actually, the Louisville GC has a X32.  And the Cincy GC has a Qu-32.  My apologies.  So, as of this afternoon, ...

Lexington GC  -  Qu-32
Louisville GC  -  X32
Cincinnati GC  -  Qu-32
misc remaining GCs  -  {   }
misc Sam Ash stores  -  {   }
misc independent retailers  -  {   }

If you're aware of nearby stores / dealers that I've overlooked (and should call), please let me know.

Back to the initial findings...

The local prosumer repair tech... who is respected, authorized for warranty work across many audio brands, and stays quite busy with SR-related repairs... has had very few of the referenced consoles come across his bench.  He has yet to service a Qu.  X32 and Si issues he's seen have been minor.  His only criticisms hinge on difficulties that he's experienced in obtaining parts from Behringer and Soundcraft.  He declined the opportunity to make a recommendation.

Bear in mind that I'm in a small third-class city, and that Nashville is only a 4hr drive away.  No idea whether my personal findings are representative of others' at large.

Cincy has a Sam Ash, too.  It's between GC and Interstate 275 (same access road).  It's been a couple of years since we lived there, so I don't know what they carry.  But, if you're going to be in the area, may as well check them out.

Call Far Out Music, they are across the bridge in IN from Louisville. They used to have a large Pro Audio department. They carry Soundcraft & Behringer

Thanks, Dave & Gary.

I checked with those particular vendors.  Not to say that there aren't others...

Thanks again.

Idk if this is helpful,  but I purchased my X32C from Sweetwater fall of 2014. Zero service needed so far.

...from Sweetwater....

Oh yeah - Sweetwater's Gear Fest is coming up next week.  That would seem to be a great place to view multiple solutions in one fell swoop.  Not terribly far from Louisville, either.

Thanks for the tips, Alex & Dave!

Though I've ordered plenty of stuff from Sweetwater, I've never paid a visit to their store.  Is it any easier to demo stuff (like consoles) there, versus a Guitar Center?

Oooh... just realized what Gear Fest is.  Looks like a GC sales event on steroids.  Not the best time for hands-on console demo-ing, perhaps?

Any wisdom to share re purchasing at one of these things?

Thanks much.

Brian

Go through Sweetwater, ask for a lower price than advertised and they'll work with you. DO NOT go to a GC. I have spent many, many thousands of dollars at Sweetwater and have nothing but praise for the company and their employees. You can ask for next day shipping, but FedEx 2nd day is standard and free.
