Title: Can I stop the daily newsletter?
Post by: kristianjohnsen on November 06, 2012, 05:25:21 am
I have clicked "no" on the monthly newsletter thingy, but I get one every day instead.  Lucky me!

How do I stop it?

I don't know where that daily email comes from. I get 2 per day, 1 to each of 2 email accounts. I just delete them from my email list after skimming the first content page to see if there is anything I want to read. In the grand scheme of email I get that I don't really want it is a small annoyance.

Maybe Ernie knows where it comes from.

There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email newsletter which should stop delivery. This may seem to be a silly question, but did you click that link and then follow the directions on the next page?

Yes.. and it took me two times, since one day later there were new boxes to un-click.

I will also offer the general advice to be careful about clicking on unsubscribe links in actual spam email without checking the URL of the link.

Lots of real spam puts a malicious URL in the Unsubscribe link, too.

Thanks Mac, and I agree.

Good to know I'm not alone. :)

I started to receive the dailies a little while back right after I changed my password.  I'm sure "I" checked some box or other  during that operation...

Only you can unsubscribe. It is right at the top and bottom of the email.

Hari kari...

I've noticed that the spam bot keeps getting in... :(  It tries to make up posts that almost seem reasonable, but has spam links in the signature area.
