Title: Lighting type question.
Post by: Mike Pyle on May 05, 2004, 06:42:54 pm
What kind of light fixture would be used to create sharp, colored, multiple beams like this?

Thanks!

It’s hard to tell from the one pic. But I would say just about any Moving head or scanner with a prism, or a GOBO and a good lens.

You might look at Lower end Effect Lights like a star flower. However they tend to usually be only about 50 or 100 watts, not very bright for this type of application.

What kind of application do you want that effect for?

A Source 4 (or other ERS) with a gobo will work.

I've done a similar effect on the cheap using Strand Profiles, with the appropriate gobos and gels in. You'd benefit from a hazer to pick out the beams of light.
