Even though we are a mobile church, we have the ability to hang fixtures for our use in the school cafaterium. We have several spare projectors I am thinking about using for backlighting for the band.
Besides the issue w/ intensity of the projector having to cut through the stage lighting, has anyone tried this before? (Church or otherwise)
Thanks

I have made a small "spot light" program for this type of application. You can find it here:

It is intended for front use as you would with a normal spot light. It may or may not be of any use to you, but at least would give you another option other than running motion graphics or something like that through the projector.
Good luck,
