Title: Audio over IP
Post by: Gary Fitzpatrick on August 03, 2019, 10:21:06 am
Have a situation where sending audio (with low latency) over IP would solve a problem.

I have an outdoor system, with a few 100v horns mounted outside a building. I need to increase coverage by adding more horns outside a building approx 200m away. There is already a WiFi PtP link between the buildings, so I'm thinking of sending the audio across the WiFi link also, into a seperate amplifier in the second building. Does anyone know of a simple 1/2 channel transmittrr/receiver pair that will work over IP?

Audio over IP is something that can be done pretty easily.  WIFI makes things exponentially more difficult though, as latency is far more unpredictable.

For distributed sound, it may not matter much, as long as you program in enough latency to cover the largest expected delay in the WIFi signal.
