Title: Mackie ProFX16 Spitting Noise Issue with Effects
Post by: Teagan Draw on July 19, 2018, 11:06:05 am
We purchased an entire new PA system a couple years ago. We are running 2 powered speakers (2 mains, 2 monitors) w subs from a Mackie ProFX16. The system sounds incredibly and works perfectly EXCEPT when using the effects on the Mackie ProFX16. If we put any sort of effect on it will randomly start making a spitting hiss nose every 2-3 seconds or so and will not stop once it starts. Sometimes we can get a set in before the noise starts, other times it happens right at sound check. It is very frustrating to have to run the effects dry but it is the only way to stop the noise. Once the effects are turned down we do not hear it. It is not a constant noise, just sounds like a hiss/spit every 2-3 seconds. We tried calling Mackie and they could not help. Getting ready to get rid of this board if we canít fix it.
