Title: How do I save &/or print an IAS report in PDF format
Post by: Patrick Riley on May 14, 2017, 08:14:23 pm
The software print function defaults to HTML format. I'd like to print it out in PDF. Any help?

I've had to print to HTML, then open the HTML doc and print to Adobe PDF as I own Acrobat.

Hi Patrick,
Not totally sure about this on a PC, but I run IAS in Parallels on my MBP. When you print anything on the Mac, there's a "PDF" drop down tab in the lower left corner of the screen with options that include "Save as .pdf" and "Open .pdf in Preview".
On a PC there's got to be a similar set of commands, IIRC, it might involve opening the file in a browser (that should happen automatically if you click on "Print Preview") and then do a "save as"...you might even be able to save as a .pdf and then print from there.

From IAS, I choose "Print Preview" then in my browser (Chrome in my case) after the HTML file shows up, I choose "print" and then from the list of printers, I select "save as PDF".

Bingo! Thanks, Karl. I have a surface pro 2 which I use for IAS. It had Microsoft Edge as the default browser. That's what was causing the problems. I changed my default browser to Chrome, & viola!

You can print to pdf in ANY application in Windows 8/10 even Edge by selecting Microsoft print to pdf as the printer, you then press print which will bring up a save dialogue, choose a file name then click save and your done

Thanks Daniel. I guess I didn't explore my print options in Edge enough. Anyway, I'm sticking with Chrome. Appreciate the input.

I don't really know that it works with Chrome. All of the time using Firefox and have not tested it.  :D
