Hi Folks, hoping to get some help locating resources for learning more about using PowerPoint/Keynote? Specifically as pertains to AV operators using these programs in programming AV presentations. Thanks for your help.

Joey,

Read through each program's user guide and shortcut guide - very helpful stuff in there, especially for use with Keynote when combined with a slide advancer that mimics keyboard shortcuts/macros (D'San PerfectCue, for example).

Also, know the differences between Powerpoint for Windows and Powerpoint for Mac.

I've learned a lot from actually using the programs - both building and running slideshows.  I much prefer Keynote for its advanced capabilities over Powerpoint, but 98% of the presentations I get are in Powerpoint.

Prezi and SlideDog are some others you may want to look into.

I can't stress enough the importance of learning the keyboard shortcuts for both PowerPoint and Keynote. Here is a link for shortcuts for PowerPoint 2007 that also works for 2010-12.

And one for Keynote....
