Title: Podium with built-in LCD display facing the audience?
Post by: Irv Laskoe on July 26, 2010, 02:23:33 pm
Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes something like this.
The idea is to use an LCD or other type of flat-panel display to eliminate the usual printed Company Logo or event name that's attached to the front of the podium during an event. It would be fed from a digital memory card or even remotely via VGA.

I've seen this in use but was not able to find out who made it.
It may of been a home-brew, in that case any assistance along that line would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mount an LCD display to an existing podium? They all have VESA mounting holes on the back.

I would think that most of the major AV furniture manufacturers and any custom furniture makers could handle something like this.

Greetings Irv,

We could not find much in the market a few years back when we needed them and built them.  I think you might have to have one commissioned and the add your monitor to it.

That's what we had to do for the NYSUT meetings. They use a double wide lectern so the video monitor is mounted in landscape mode. For most lecterns a vertical "portrait" orientation probably makes more sense.
