we are looking to replace our main projector and money is an issue. have seen Pro Series projectors for considerably less than most projectors and wonder if it is too good to be true. I realize normally you get what you pay for, but before turning the whole deal down on that basis, wanted to see if anyone has heard of them or had any experience using them.

There are numerous manufacturers with "Pro Series" projector models. Some of those are name/major brands like Casio, Epson and Digital Projection. Some are brands like OX, for which I can't find any manufacturer information and that only seems to be offered from a few discount vendors. But this could be misleading as many times companies that produce electronics for name brand companies will at some point start producing their own products, and in some cases those may even be direct copies of the products they produced for others. Can you provide a link or any more specific information?

Apparently HDProjectorWorld and BestAVStore are both subsidiaries of Oxygenergy Electronics. Interestingly, while both HDProjectorWorld and BestAVStore claim that they are essentially the manufacturer of the projectors, Oxygenergy Electronics does not list projectors as a product they offer, making me believe the OX branded projectors are likely cheap Chinese imports with their name put on them.
What is more intersting is that HDProjectorWorld, BestAVStore and Oxygenergy Electronics all indicate on their web sites being BBB accredited, however:
- The currently have a 'F' rating with BBB.
- They apparently had their BBB accreditation revoked in January of 2011 for failure to acceptably resolve complaints.
- A warning was posted by the BBB in April of 2011 for their continuing to display the BBB acrredited logo after losing their accreditation, yet over a year later the logo is apparently still being displayed.
All in all, not real reassuring.

fortunately timing became an issue and we went with an Epson Power Lite 1950.
so far so good on that choice.
