Title: Doug Fowler's Smaart Live for Beginners...final part ?
Post by: DAVID_L_PERRY on November 29, 2006, 03:17:04 AM: Used Doug Fowler's guide to smaart last night to set up my laptop and got the trial version of smaart up and running with no problems, which was nice.
This is the last part of the text:-

"In the next and final installment we will perform complimentary equalization on this loudspeaker by overlaying a stored reference trace of the loudspeaker under test with the transfer function of the equalizer’s input and output. By inverting the EQ transfer function we can set filters which match the stored reference trace, which should accurately remedy the non-linearities present in the loudspeaker’s response."

Is this missing or has it not been doen yet ??

Any body have any other good sources to read for us dummies....

Uptil now I have been an RTA and pink noise fella....

Any help greatly appreciated in this

Do you have any specific questions on this procedure, or were you mainly interested in Doug's next article? If the latter, you'll have to catch him in Hawaii - he just took a job as a Hula instructor:

Probably makes no difference...I will persevere and use the other document..Either that or take Hula lessons.
