Title: Pro 6 / Pro 2.
Post by: Al Rettich on July 16, 2014, 10:55:09 PM
We've got a Midas Pro 6, along with a Pro 2. Recently, our DL351 was damaged. I know you can take the DL 251 from the Pro 2 & use it with the Pro 6, but I've heard rumors that some ppl have shared a DL 251 between two Pro consoles. Wondering if anyone here had inside knowledge of the how to on making this happen. Got a show coming up soon where both consoles are needed on the same stage.

First desk ties into the DL251 via the first 3 AES ports, 2nd desk daisy chains off the second AES ports.  Configure the second set of ports as an AES50 device.  On the first console patch one to one the direct outs of each channel to the "AES" device.  That will allow you to share the stage box.  Keep in mind that only the first desk in the chain will control the head amps.  The second desk will only have trim.

....I believe that is the easiest way.... it has been awhile since I have had to do this.  I'm sure I will get corrected on this.

That way works, Kyle.  Another option is to double patch the inputs from the DL251 to the inputs of the first console and also directly to the AES50 tie lines instead of using the direct outs.

Makes since... and simpler.  It would be great if there was a simple toggle on the Pro2 to throw the second ports into a simple pass-through for this type of thing.  More control is always great, but simple is sometimes good too.
