Today is the demo day for the Danleys in the venue. Equipment on hand for the demo is 2 x SH50 and 2 x TH118.
We were pleasantly surprised at how much output 2 x TH118 were able to generate in the empty venue (the bass is deafening at -10db). Therefore we believe 3 (or max 4) x TH118 is more than sufficient to cover the venue at max capacity (400 people).
It has been mentioned the output of 4 x TH118 is equal to 1 x BC218 (correct me if I am wrong). Therefore 1 x BC218 is enough to cover the whole venue. Do you concur?
A reminder, the room size is approx 70ft by 35ft (see attached image).

As usual, it depends.
It depends on how you define "equal", specifically at what freq.
Down at 25Hz, it is going to take more TH118s to equal a BC218. At higher freq, maybe not as many.
The BC218 was "designed/intended" to be used in a pair-so it would be a BC418.
But that cabinet would be to large to move around, so it was split in half.
If the TH118s are giving you the level you need, that is good. Just be sure to use "more than enough" so you don't have to push each cabinet as hard.
In a smaller room, you will get some room gain at the lower freq to help extend the response lower.
Many people are happy with the lows of the TH118 for dance music-but there are different styles, some go lower than others.

Ivan, Will the TH118 and BC218 work as a tandem (both doing what they do best, but still mostly overlapping? 2 TH's & 1 BC? That may have come up earlier in the thread.

How well any two sub cabinets "play together" depends on a number of factors.
The cabinets themselves, the crossover freq, types, slopes etc also greatly affect the final outcome.
That being said, I have used the TH118s and BC415 together well, and the DBH218s, and BC415s well.
I have not tried any of the above cabinets with the BC218.
The basic design concept is the same, but the path is longer on the BC218 (to get the lower response)

The DJ platform will be too high with a BC218 underneath. Your rep has recommended 4 x TH118 as opposed to 2 or 3 x DBH218 from a SQ perspective. The DJ monitor will utilize 2 x SH95. See image.
I have used the TH118s and BC415 together well, and the DBH218s, and BC415s well.
Interesting. What is the purpose of running 2 different types of subs in tandem.
Wouldn't you normally find a sub you like and multiply until you get the desired output.
