Title: Microphone stands "shorty"
Post by: Robert Weston on June 26, 2011, 09:50:37 AM
I'm needing some short  microphone stands (for guitar amps, drums, etc...).  Was looking at the Audiopile "shorty" mic stands - ( http://www.audiopile.net/products/Mic_Stands/DD-066B/DD-066B_Tripod_cutsheet.shtml )

Anyone using these; any thoughts/opinions about these with respect to durability, functionality?

I need a couple also. I bought some recently (another brand, don't remember what) and they aren't holding up. Usually anything Audiopile has, he's checked out and it's usable. I think I'll buy a couple of those.

Buy them thier great! We've got them all over town here in clubs. Just buy a tube of lock tight and and glue the little euro adapters onto the stand ends cause they'll come of in mic clips and really bug you. Seriously they're the best for the money anywhere. Wish they sold tall booms!

I have four at my club (on Marsellus' recommendation) and love them, I'm probably gonna order two more. Ditto on the Euro adapter thing, if you don't locktite them you'll always be using a Gerber to unthread them from the mics...

I have 4 in my kit and I love em.  +1 on some thread locker for the euro adapters.
