Title: Wireless In Ear Stage Monitor
Post by: Dan Daniel on January 31, 2011, 02:52:50 PM
We have an Aviom system for our stage mix with which we are very pleased.
Our problem is the stage volumn with all the monitors.
We are considering wireless in the ear monitors however the cost is very high at around $800 per transmitter.
Has anyone tried the Bluetooth wireless transmitters used for Ipods as an alternative?

Thank You

Dan Daniel

I guess you are using the Avioms to mix wedges then?  Do you need wireless to go in-ear?  Unless your musicians and singers move around the stage a lot, you should be fine with one or two wireless IEMs and everyone else on wired headphones.  I'm not familiar with the bluetooth options.

Have you tried asking nicely for everyone to turn down their monitors?  ;)

Seriously, Taylor is right, depending on your setup, you could probably get away with a few of the players wired... What is your stage situation?  How many players?  Where do they move?
