However, worship lyric projection is a bit of a problem. We have our own worship band that travels to various churches and I would like to have a laptop ready for projection at those churches I can plug into.
Yes, I could use Keynote or Power Point, but I would rather have a solution like Song Show Plus (since we use it at our Church and I have a large song database already) or some other projection application made specifically for worship lyrics projection. We move pretty freely around in a song and using PPT or Keynote would be a challenge for following the verses and chorus's of a song.
My searches for this have come up a bit empty.
Does anyone else have any good ideas?

IF the video driver gives full access to dual monitor support, DirectX support through Windows, this may be a solution.

MediaShout is getting very close to releasing a Mac version--saw it working last weekend (studentlife conference). But until then try ProPresenter; I, personally am not a fan, but it is all I know of in Mac world at the moment. I use MediaShout on a PC.

YUP - bootcamp is the alternative - still have to reboot into Windows. We do use moving backgrounds etc. so I believe the Pro versions would be the only ones to consider with there much greater video capabilities. Can you even "extend" the desktop on the MacBook? ProPresenter from www.renewedvision.com is presentation software created specifically for the MAC platform. It gives you the flexibility you need to select songs on the fly and 'move around' in songs. It boosts some cool features for video playback and video under lyrics that presentation software like Easy Worship and Media Shout are finally catching up with. Most of all it gives you stability that I have found some of the windows based presenters do not.
As with most products, preference does play a big part in how much you will like the product. You can download a version of ProPresenter from the website above to evaluate it.

What I really disliked is how new songs are entered. I tried several methods including the recommended method (from renewed vision) for importing songs from Song Select (copy to clipboard, use New Song from Clipboard). The result was a slide created for each line of the song. Most of the time I want a "slide" per Verse or Chorus - not a slide for each line. So, a song that was normally 4 or 5 slides ended up being 28 slides. I do not have the time or patience to do this much "editing" when I can easily download songs into MediaShout or SongShowPlus with little to no changes or extra time. Unless their is a better way (I asked this at the enewed vision Propresenter forum - which only has a couple of entries in it and no response so far)?
This may be somewhat a personal preference - but is high on my list due to the "time" element.

I was loking at ProPresenter and also took a look at ProVideo Player. Does anybody know what similar program/s are availiable for windows?

CCLI Songselect importing is a bit clumsier than SSP (have to edit some stuff), BUT I want the Mac capability and the price is right.
One other area - crossfading between slides works well until you have a slide with a background video - than transitions don't work. Hopefully this will be addressed in a future release.

I use Propresenter for all of our video playback needs. The new Pro is amazing it is better than any other software out as far as im concerned. To move slides around all you need to do is apple ,click and drag them where you want them.
