Title: earworn mic storage
Post by: Dan Godwin on July 14, 2019, 12:56:32 PM
I've got 4 of the single earworn and 8 of the dual ear worn mics for my local theatre group.  Does anyone have any suggestions for storage between shows?  I'd rather not just wrap them to the body pack as the drawer in the rack is too short for the dual ear ones.  What do other people do?  Thanks

Dan,

I picked up a used metal brief case and put foam in it.  It has served me well for about 10 years and I think I paid like $10 for the case at a second hand store.

Don't wrap the cables around the body packs!

How long are you storing them for in between shows/uses?

Look at a hanging shoe holder, the type with pouches to put the shoes in.

For storage and transport of my headset mics during class play season I took what they call a "bankers box" and cut cardboard to make dividers with slots to hold the headset mics.
You would not do a national tour with a cardboard box but for my purpose  it works well.

Clear "pencil" pouches designed for a 3 ring binder work; you can protect the pouch and earworn/headworn mics with the binder (well-labeled, or in stealth mode).  If you are looking for color-coded pouches, contact Rod Riley at bodymics.com.
