Title: Quick Help!
Post by: zwms548 on December 18, 2004, 06:27:39 PM
This is a really short help plea!
My band and I are playing at our school's talent show on wednesday, and we need something to spice the show up. We've played more interesting venues, lol, but we need something to get the crowd going. Since the show is very basic interms of lighting capability, this is what I had in mind:
Basic Dark blue background lights
white house lights on us (3 of us, all stage front, cause we all sing, very somber mellow music)
random order christmas lights on the black backdrop of the stage, just to look cool.

So thats what i've got, but there's got to be more to do! any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
peace,
zach

You could dress up like KISS.

but seriously, it's a high school talent show...   so you have what...  5, 10 minutes to set up?

blow them away with talent/music instead of the mtv style lights and fog (actually, there's a good idea for you...   fog machine...).

remember...   talent/music....   not lights...  not fo..  wait...  fog is cool...   yeah...   go with the fog...

Maybe rent some lights...? 64 cans, 2 spot lights, 4 fog machines a few lazers and strobs. That should cover it. Smile

But on a real note, Its only a talent show. Impress everyone with the music, not the lights. You only get to play for a few min, so its not a big deal. I played(and ran sound) at my HS talent show last year. We played 2 songs and wowed the crowd with no fancy lighting, but it did sound awesome. Nothing like dual 18 subs on each side of the stage and some high powered JBL tops.... Now thats a good show. Smile

Good luck
