Title: IR microphone mutes
Post by: Tom Young on February 22, 2011, 04:52:04 PM
Anyone here had any experience with the Sabine Phantom Mic Rider ?

I would like hands-on (real world) opinions/comments on how well these work. My primary interest is for gooseneck mic's at pulpits and lecterns.

Thanks !

Ok, so that's pretty ridiculous, and pretty awesome all at the same time.  Certainly worth the price if I never have to worry about a sound guy forgetting to un-mute the podium mic :)  I'm interested too!

As with most equipment from reputable manufacturers, these work just fine for the stated purpose.  And as with other pieces your results will be absolutely dependent on proper setup.  It does take a bit of time to dial them in but I have had no trouble with them once properly deployed.  Sole application for me has been on "podium" mics.
