Title: software to control effects?

Does anyone use a laptop to change effect patches during a show?

I have four effect units in my rack:
TC D2
Lex PCM 81
(2) SPX 2000

I would like to use my laptop to change the patches on all the fx units at the same time.

Is this possible?

just find a piece of software to send MIDI signals to the units

I do this within my console, but have never used a piece of computer software to do so

MIDI Ox - its a bit cumbersome until you get used to it:

I used it for a while running a Lexi MX300, a TC M300 and a Yamaha Rev500. At 1 point I also got a Novation Remote Zero SL MIDI control surface which worked really well too.
Now I run a Lexi MX200 and an MX300 which have their own GUI and the Rev500 is too easy to use anyway so I dont need MIDI control anymore.

I actually use a simple keypad device which broadcasts in omni mode.

If you have patch mapping on your fx units then this would be an option.
