Thank you,

I don't use USB-C, I use a USB A to 3xUSB A + 1xEthernet from TP Link (https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Portable-Ethernet-Notebooks-UE330/dp/B01N9M32TA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1539220823&sr=8-5&keywords=TP+Link+usb+to+ethernet+adapter). It has proven more reliable than the Apple branded Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter I had before. They may have a USB-C version.

Both of mine seem to work (Some cheap Chinese ones named Tumao and Vava...) I would think that most do. Have you found any that don't?

I've successfully use the Otherworld Computing Thunderbolt 3 Dock (https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/docks/owc-thunderbolt-3-dock?_ga=2.208734353.266719830.1539226703-1113816212.1539226703&_gac=1.4006404.1539226722.EAIaIQobChMInLHdlLH93QIVD7XACh3HWQhqEAAYASAAEgL2K_D_BwE), which has a gigabit Ethernet port on it to connect to Dante network from a MacBook Pro with only USB-C type Thunderbolt 3 ports on it.

A bigger dongle than you probably want since it also has multiple USB3 ports and SD card, HDMI, headphones etc...

I have also loaned out an  off brand USB3 to Ethernet adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N4981D2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) at a Dante training to another participant who was using an older MacBook Pro which had USB 3 ports, and it worked out fine. I see they have a USB-C to Ethernet version out now. At $16 it's worth trying.

I haven’t had a problem with any apple branded adapters (usb or multiple thunderbolt).  Whether I’m an anamoly or Mac is is hard to say.  I would just start with the Apple one and go from there.

Thank you,

I picked up one of these to use with a 2018 MBP, haven't tried Dante yet but it has worked fine for HiQnet and Soundgrid.

As I say, I haven't heard of any that DON'T work, so maybe just get the cheapest one you can find on az and just return it if it doesn't work, of course posting here the brand and model to add to the "do not buy" list...

I love that if I switch to a new MBP, I have to also purchase a $289 adapter just so it can have all the same I/O has my 2010 MBP.  ::)

The Cult of Apple is always gonna Apple.

My Lenovo P50 has 4 USB3.1 ports, a Thunderbolt3 port, SD card slot, real gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI, DP, 4 slots for RAM (currently 48GB), 3 slots for SSDs(currently 2TB all SSDs), a faster processor than the current Mac Book Pros at the time, AND a touch screen. And it cost half of what the same MacBook Pro would have. All it needed was a TB3 to TB2 adapter to use my Focusrite Clarett interfaces with.

If Figure 53 came out with a Windows version of QLab, and Renewed Vision came out with a windows version of PVP, I would not have just spent $3k on a new MBP.

QLab is the only reason that I would buy a Mac computer. I've begged Chris Ashworth to port QLab to Windows for years and he won't do it. Everything else that I run runs equally well on Windows, sometimes better even.
