Title: Check my custom Avid Profile laptop stand
Post by: Kristo Kotkas on August 08, 2012, 03:34:20 PM
Posting it here too, someone might get inspired...

You know that moment when you realize there is no more free cases at FOH to put your laptop on, or even if there was, there is no room...

Here is the solution - laptop holder from customized AVID spare parts!

Where did you get the parts from? Did you order them from Avid? That looks great!

Yes, ask your dealer, they can get you the monitor arm, bolts-nuts and an SC48 laptop plate. You can find the part numbers on one of my pics. The only non-Avid parts I used were the 4 small bolts-nuts that connect the SC48 plate to the bent monitor arm.

The only tricky part is to get the monitor arm correctly bent, as you might see on the video clip I used a friends help who has a metal shop and was able to bend mine with that big special machine.

Very nice work, I might have to build something like this, it would be really handy to have on tour.
You can bend it with a vise and 2 hand if you cannot find a break press.
