Yep, a new thread on an "old" desk....

I just noticed a few of these in excellent condition selling for $2500 or so and was thinking about picking one up. Then I remembered you need the Dante or M-Waves card if you want to record multitrack audio on this desk (pretty common request these days). Either one of those cards will still set you back close to $2k, used. Anyone know an economical way to get multitrack audio from the GLD? At $2500 a GLD is interesting....at $4500, not so much.

Man there is some serious margin in those interface cards!

We just received yesterday a pair of DZR 12's & a pair of the DXS18XLF.

Running program music through them, the 12's run away from the subs quickly!

I guess I'm lucky that my gigs don't require much volume. I get away with 2 PRX715XLF's (clustered) with my DZR12's and they do fine. I'm doing live jazz/rock/folk bands not DJ/EDM stuff, but it is outdoors (reasonably small areas). That said, the subs are getting close to their limit and I'd quickly run out of sub if I needed more. The PRX715XLF's only weigh 56 lbs each though, which is why I keep hanging on to them.

The DZR range is a level above the DXR range, so no surprise that the sub can't keep up.  That said, you almost always need multiple subs to keep up with a decent top.

Any idea if Yamaha is planning to release an upgraded sub line? DZSxxXLF?

Hearing reports that the roof of the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, IL collapsed during a show (Morbid Angel, possibly?).

Conflicting report on weather it was the roof over the house or the fly loft. But there are reports of multiple casualties.

There was severe weather in the area earlier today. And this appears to be one of the old vaudeville houses.

Decorum prevents me from posting the pictures, but they are out there, and don't look good. Prayers for the audience and staff.

Update: Looks there was severe weather at the time of the collapse. Some videos you can see lighting through the hole in the roof. And some reports are that there was a tornado in the area.

Hello guys, i am searching about a week for any enclosures for the blackwidow but i can’t find any good enclosures online, the sub is 1801-8 the old one with the spider logo on it, i don’t mind about the weight or how big it is.

Please go to your profile and change the "Name" field to your real first and last name as required by the posting rules displayed in the header at the top of the section, and in the Site Rules and Suggestions in the Forum Announcements section, and on the registration page when you registered.

Keep in mind all Pheonix connectors are not inter-changable, some are close, some will not even mate.

What are some good amps to drive subs?  I'm looking for 4000-4500w @ 4ohms per channel.

Years ago I was bridging an XTi4000 into a SRX728, it was alright and then switched to an IT8000 and it was a night and day difference; holy cow did the SRX728s move some air.  Well then I took a few years off (and sold everything) and when I got back into it, I picked up the SRX828SP (FAIL!).  Now I picked up some Custom built dual 18s with B&C drivers and looking for a beefy sounding amp.  Right now, I have a Clair iO with Gruppen FP9000 to hold me over until I can get a bigger amp.

Really it's whatever you can get used. Nobody has big amps in stock right now. Linda Research seems to be delivering the most with Dynacord on their heels.

I believe the issue is that you then have two design files to support instead of just one.

Ah yes, of course.
