Title: RIP Turbo
Post by: Doug Fowler on October 04, 2010, 06:24:18 PM
Sad news:

Turbo the Nubian Audio Goat, of Pocatello ID sadly passed to Audio Goat heaven a year or so ago.

Bummer.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, then that makes you a Complete New Guy (Gal) on the LAB.  It doesn't make you a bad person, just a new person.

The rest of you, hoist one for old Turbo.

Sad

The neighbors down the way from us have a pretty much vertical piece of land between their house and the road I drive every day into town.

They have two goats who keep the grass and brush trimmed where no lawn mower could hope to go.

Every time I see them I've thought about Turbo.

Now that he's gone to a better goat place I will let our neighbor goats help keep his memory alive.

Adult beverage to be hoisted just before dinner tonight in Turbo's memory.

Cheers,
Gramps

That is sad news.  We should get some memorial Turbo shirts going.  The hit of last years AES was the Abdul camel shirt.  I'm sure there are several other old goats here that would contribute.

Awwww... bummer.  Now I have to pull my own 4/0 in Idaho.

My sympathies to Professor Hackworth and goat lovers everywhere.

I'll find an appropriate beverage to toast Turbo's memory.

It looks like ice water to me.

I guess I'm a CNG, since I have no idea what this goat thing is about. If you want a new goat I know where to find about three dozen, as we lease some of our land to a guy who raises goats and sheep.

Yup.

Rumor has it that Turbo was teaching Martin's classes at Idaho State U, too, when he was being stalked.

Having grown up on a Diary farm I suggest we pass the hat and buy a KID and be done with it. Its really not that complicated.
Perhaps put something to climb on in the yard
in memorial of Turbo.
Title: Update
Post by: Doug Fowler on October 07, 2010, 12:14:09 PM
Martin has told me Turbo indeed left us a little over a year ago, but now he has a number of little Alpine goats on the property.

Favorite Turbo story:

Martin likes to run in the Pocatello foothills.  Turbo liked to jog along for his goat-exercise.  But, being a goat, he liked to get off the road and take the hill, and meet up with Martin down the road a bit.

That's a good goat.....

FWIW an ex-girlfriend gave Turbo to Martin as a gift.  Of course she didn't know the baby goat would grow up to be a 200 pound coyote killer.

Farewell Turbo, we hardly knew ye.

Doug, does this mean the Wiggins' goat is the last of the Audio Goats?
