Any opinions or experience on these guys? I need a couple low-volume side fills for a small area.

We use a lot of the dual 6" EVU's or Tannoy Di5 DC's for small/inexpensive.

I've used the EVID 8.2 Several Times, solid speaker, reasonable price, and they come with all the supports for T Grid ceilings so nothing else to buy. I'd go for it.

The new EV low profile line, the smaller dual 6" seems to be the best. The Tannoy sounds great as well and is coax. The Evid is OK, nothing special, and looks odd.

The EVID sounds like a boombox.

I've been using Evid 6.2, 4.2 and 3.2 for 8 years and have found them to be quite good, right out of the box. The 6.2 in particular, has surprisingly "respectable" LF response. In distributed systems for bar/restaurants I have been able to achieve very decent (combined) bass response. I also use them for delays in worship spaces with very good results.
Among other savvy design features, they roll-off one of the 2 woofers to reduce combing in the upper range of the woofers' passband.
They are less susceptible to feedback than other small-format, surface-mount speakers I have tried in this price range. 3 weeks ago I had to put one behind the host/hostess paging mic location and it has not required as much EQ as I thought it would.
The only slight glitch is that you have to carefully tighten the mounting arm when aiming. The bolt and nut can become stripped.

Move up to the ZXA1 you wont regret it. EV Claims 800watts, less than 20lbs and can be used as small floor monitors as well. They are fantastic little boxes, should be more versatile for you if you need smaller boxes for anything else.

Not even close to a fit for my application but thanks.

I cringe every time I see an EVID. More so when I hear one.
If you need a compact inexpensive plastic box, the QSC AD speakers really shine.
