Title: Security connectors - Club Install
Post by: Travis_Valois on November 14, 2017, 12:09:25 AM
Looking for recommendations for a source for XLR male connectors preventing unauthorized users from unplugging inputs to powered speakers and plugging their own source directly to the speakers. Neutrik has a female connector (NC3FX-Spec) that's available, but haven't been able to find XLR male connectors with any type of similar feature. Pic is of the female Neutrik connector.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171114/c4bcac4af387bb9503f61a19780394f5.jpg)

the only thing I can think of is putting a security panel over the inputs on the powered speaker, possibly using fixings that are already there, combine that with security torx screws and you would have a good system. remember that if people can see a seemingly standard removable connector (like an XLR) they will try to remove it even if it ends up breaking something.

The only other option would be to change the connector to a non standard type but the difficulty of that would be quite high and would cause unnecessary problems if the cabling ever failed and had to re replaced by someone else
