Finally remembered to take a picture.

-Russ

Edited to add: the screws I'm using in place of the Neutrik-provided ones are #4-3/4" self-tapping screws sold in my local big-box hardware store as "wood/metal screws".

Thanks for the idea Russ!

I have a chance to purchase four of these. The info other than company literature is sparse. Can anyone whos worked with thses speakers give me some insight on them. Planning on using them for basic duties. DJ's and small bands in small to medium sized venues.

While I haven't used this exact model before, I have mixed on multiple similar Renkus systems over the course of a couple years, in multiple rooms.  Overall they were good; the primary negative is the tend to have some of "that JBL sound", IE distortion.  If you can get them for a great price, if you don't expect them to be ultra rugged and durable, and if you don't expect them to be crushingly high SPL - if the price is good, go for it.  Keep in mind they are biamp only, so factor in the higher amp cost versus simply the speaker cost.

Let's see what you have to say, there is also QSC KLA, L Acoustics Kiva, Jbl VRX etc

KLA and VRX are NOT a line array, and they both suck, badly.  Yes I have heard and deployed them personally.  Trying to prove your endeavors are better than the worst wanna-be "line array" doesn't instill any confidence.  Kiva/Kilo I've used (our company designed, installed, and tuned a system), it's a line array at some frequencies, but it's not like the other two.

Threads like these simply prove why trusting someone's DIY project speakers is a bad idea.

It's a weird spin off and going to get/be confusing.

RCF TT+ (Touring & Theater) line is the active/power version

TT+ is the Passive brand with the GTX line.

Is anyone using DAS Action M512A?  If not, has anyone heard the M512A?  I don't see much information on the DAS Action line.

What I am looking for, is a sub $1k monitor wedge and these one seems to check the few must have boxes.
 - Monitor wedge with a pole mount (or vice versa)
 - Power OUT/Link
 - I don't need it to be a "rider acceptable" wedge (the riders I'm filling are going to be "I can provide ## of wedges on stage").

I mean I get a lot of spl with 4 tops having a total of 8 HF drivers than the point source, I do rock and metal concerts and outdoors even compact as it sounds very good. Even the sound engineers who come up with those bands are happy with the sound.

Found a guy on marketplace selling off a bunch of extra stuff he had from various conf room type installs and conference work over the years. For $250 CAD I got 2 x Beta87's, 2 x Beta58's, and 1 x SM58 capsules, and a Radial J+4, and some half wave antennas and power supplies. He had a room full of just random Crestron and other typical install things, tons of cabling and power supplies and such, just all sorts of neat things (mostly what I didn't need though). Either way, even one Beta87 is worth more than I paid for the lot, so did well :)

Also last week came across a QSC CX254 for $250 as well, so that was also a decent win :) it's getting re-sold to my boss who was looking for a 4 channel amp though.

Just a few fun little scores on the used market where I actually did pretty well. I've bought a lot of other gear that way, but usually 50% of retail or higher is typical, not pennies on the dollar unless it was old ancient useless stuff which is not the case here.

I love scores like that!  My sister worked at a club that was stopping their in house bands/music, so they wanted all their gear gone.  I pulled up with a van and piled it all in.  He wanted peanuts for all of it.
One particular memory was a bin of XLRs he asked $50 for.  When I got it home and emptied it, it was also full of Mics.  Lots of 57s, a couple 58s, and a Beta 52 (which I needed).

For example, Martin Audio W8VDQ combines line array and differential dispersion technologies to provide an advanced solution to the requirement of even coverage over wide angles and throw distances. Short throw horizontal dispersion is 120º, narrowing to 100º as throw increases. Let's see what you have to say, there is also QSC KLA, L Acoustics Kiva, Jbl VRX etc

This sounded like marketing material copy/pasted. If so, it should be taken with a large measure of salt.

You have access to some really seasoned and well-educated pros on this forum, but your tone is coming across (to me, at least) as challenging and dismissive of their expertise. If you actually want to learn, you have to be open…genuinely open… to the possibility that your preconceptions are wrong. If you don’t want to learn, then you probably don’t need to ask questions here.

PS - sincere thanks to the many professionals here who share their hard-won knowledge with people like me who know just enough to be dangerous and are liable to fall into the Dunning-Kruger trap.

Thanks, I should have re-checked - looks like they are built to order, according to the dealers, but I think we have enough lead time.
