Title: DMX Booster
Post by: Corey Ging on April 18, 2008, 09:26:16 AM
I have searched the forum and found a few old topics, but wanted to get any new ideas.

I am looking for recommendations for a single channel DMX Booster.  I have looked at the Elation splitter/booster but that is more than I need.  Has anyone found or used a single channel DMX Booster?  Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Why do you need a booster? Are you going more than 1000' feet?

If you are having problems and it is less than 1000' feet - do you have the data chain terminated?

Why Terminate?

Are you using the correct cable type, or using audio cable (which may work in some cases, but is not the correct cable for data/DMX)?  These are the two most common problems with DMX that I have seen, it's pretty robust when used correctly.

If you are going more than 1000' Doug Fleenor Design has a Isolation Amplifier (Model 121) that has a MSRP of $421.30.
