Guys please do vote which one is better
At that level, it depends on the venue and how it is deployed/skill of the system tech.
-
Better at what? What's the application?
-
Is there supposed to be a poll? How do we vote?

hey
Hard to say which one is "better", it's a big question when obviously there are LOTS of variables to consider, and as people have said generally at that level all boxes sound good to a minimum standard and it would be down to the deployment and the work of the system and tech that would be the biggest influence in the results of the system.
However with that caveat in place, while you cant really say "better" I think that you could say that in Europe K1 would certainly be regarded as at least a more desired and rider spec'd system, you don't see very much VTX in use (least here in the UK).
In the US however it'd be a bit of a closer decision, VTX is used much more frequently there than in Europe. I'd still venture to say that K1 would probably edge the VTX out, but really US based members would probably be able to offer a better opinion on that.

While I completely agree that at this level, the quality of the end result is really down to factors other that what the PA is, I think it would be fair to say that as far as really large format line arrays go, K1 is the system to beat...
Its not just about the box itself, but the whole ecosystem. Rigging, other boxes in the product line, amplification/processing, etc...

As others have eluded to-What does "better" mean?
Better sound? Does that mean hi fi or rip your face off sound?
Better price?
Better rigging?
Better rider acceptance?
Better (ie smaller) size?
Better (ie less) weight?
Better gain before feedback?
Better (meaning greater) output SPL before distortion (NOT just max SPL)?
There is no simple answer to a very open ended question.

One also had to wonder when approaching a purchasing an audio system of this expense and magnitude why would
You need the opinion of strangers on the Internet. Business factors more than likely outweigh economic and technical.
Are you in a position of authority to issue a PO for this system? I would bet a steak dinner not. Basically you are an gaging in mental masterbation and fantasizing.
You would get equal traction if you posted I am studying about these touring class line array systems and was wondering if anyone would share their opinion with me out of curiosity.

I will only answer just about the quality issue, no other perspective.
From my mixing experiences on both system, K1 will definitely beat the VTX in both sound quality & SPL.
Anyway, VTX is really a lot of improvement compared to the Vertec.
