Title: Soundcraft Vi1
Post by: Jason M Wagner on March 08, 2011, 11:03:04 PM
We got a new Soundcraft Vi1 for our theatre. I was given a week to learn... figure out how to make it work for the first show. What are some of the pros and cons of this board? So far, it's fairly simple to use. There are some features that take getting used to. Any thoughts out there?

Pros:

Sounds great.
Small footprint.
Very capable routing.
Good EQ & dynamics implementation.
Easily expandable by adding a stage rack.

Cons:

Only 4 FX modules (not really that big a deal).
Touchscreen somewhat inconsistent.

Those are my thoughts after a few hours messing with it. I work with a sound co. that has two Vi6s and I have to say they are great consoles. The Vi1 holds up to those nicely. IMHO it's a great little desk I hope I get to work on often.

IMHO

Thank for your input, but what does "IMHO" stand for?
