My retailer recently told me their anticipated arrival date is late April (27th-ish, but who's counting?).
Makes one wonder why Sennheiser chose to run a promotion without stock on hand... Moving to a pre-order production model? "Future Clearance" mode?

Already have one. Don't need any more. Might consider a couple of e906's in May.
Whatever Sennheiser's intentions, it would seem they are lowering the market value of these mics and are likely killing the market for the "more expensive" e6 series (unless someone needs them right away).
This makes more sense when there's a new, improved model on the horizon and manufacturers are just trying to clear old inventory.

Yes, which is why we no long purchase MD421. I have a desk drawer full (literally) of non-working MD421 that would cost as much to repair as to replace. Given their apparent relatively fragile nature and shittiest stand adapter EVAH, we won't replace them.

Both showed the discount on their websites for the e904. Thomann sold out pretty quickly IIRC. Haven't checked the e902, but if they're not doing the discount for those I'm sure a quick phone call would sort things out for you :)

Yeah, I was going to order another pair of e906. I guess not. To my ears the e609 is an SM57 in a different package - other than form factor there is nothing to distinguish it.

I agree. Just disappointed my "candy" rep didn't notify me after we'd already had that email discussion earlier in the morning (ie. I'm a buyer @ $100, NOT at @ $190).

Thanks Dave .... I have 1 x 906 and 1 x 609 already. I got the 609 first a few years ago but these days it gets used for iem rehearsal and I take out the 906 for live. I only use the 609 at shows when I need to mic up more than one cab. I have been looking for another 906 - smoother tone than the 609.
Actually, I didn't really expect to get 2. It happened by mistake...
So....website kicked me off just as I entered the last of the credit card information. Normally I would just call them to confirm whether the order went through or not before processing another one but I didn't want to miss the deal, so I quickly checked my the account online and it said zero orders so I ordered again.
Then after about 5 minutes, everything caught up and I got 2 confirmations together in my inbox. At that price, I'll keep them both and sell the 609 ( once the sale is over - LOL)
Good to hear it works well on bass cabs.

Quick question on the e906. I find with the one I already have that if I use the 1st position presence boost, it sounds just like the e609 which can be a bit harsh sounding. I tend to use mine flat as I like the slightly darker sound. I find the 3rd position too dull for most applications so far. Do you guys play around with the settings on the mic at shows or do you mainly use it flat?

After suffering extreme backorder-itis, I'd wager Sennheiser is featuring whichever microphone they stand a chance of supplying in a timely fashion.
This evolution series promo has helped build my mic locker but I'd be hurting if these were mission-critical items.

I'm thinking seriously about swapping out my EV N/D767a mics for some e935 or 945s. The EVs aren't as smooth in the kHz range as I'd like, and a 935 in brand-new condition just looks so classy...

I was looking around for a next-step-up in vocal mics (currently running EV 767s), so it was great to know that the e935s were on their way.
First e935 arrived today. I'm taking it to the weekly open mic tonight, and will report back on how it does. There'll be an EV N/D767a on the other stand, and I'll be encouraging people to try both.
If any of the dealers happen to be talking to a Sennheiser rep, I'd appreciate knowing why it's only the e935 on offer here in the UK and EU, but it looks like the USA gets the e945 as well.

However, Thomann (large audio retailer, based in Germany), is also missing out on the 50% off sale for the e945. I'm wondering if it's a regional thing, or if someone high up has missed a memo.

It's the e935 AND the e945 this month. (Otherwise I don't know why they let me order a bunch of e945s for a discounted rate... haha.)
