In all of my calculations, it shows that the x-max is reached with in a few hertz of the vented box tuning. The minimum excursion happens at the box tuning, then shoots way up fast as you go down in freq. My question is this: what should your high-pass frequency be set to given the box tuning? The high-pass I use is usually 24 db/octave butterworth. But if my box tuning is for example 36 Hz, what high pass should I use to insure that I do not exceed the maximum excursion?
thanks,

I cant tell you because i dont know the Power,Xmax,Fb,Vb nor driver specifications.
Considering that having the -3db point of filter AT the tuning would just result in slightly lower output at tuning (only just audible) then this isnt a bad place to start in theory.
Try a 'couple of hz' lower.
winisd pro + update can model FIlter + subwoofer alignment and show excursion (beta)
