Is this on?

I've got a buzz, can you flip that lift on the DI?
-
Seems to come on a little faster.

Is this on?
Loud 'n clear!!
Shoot, now I gotta get used to a new format for the Fourth time in the last 13 years! >:(

Already tried that - the buzz is worse with the lift. Now what? ???
-
Try an IL19.....
-
Are you kidding, I'm a "newbie" with only 2 post's?
Ahhh, to be young again!!

Who cares, it sucks.
The countdown has begun...

Try it uplugged.
Well I am in, for better or worse.

Speaking of IL19's. Has anyone used the new Whirlwind version "ISOXL" My understanding is that they made their own after many QC issues with batches of IL19's. It's less money and no big square thing in the middle like the "new" IL19's.

Seems to work from down here as well. ::)

The "big square thing" is a larger transformer that will perhaps let the device pass LF at line level instead of distorting... I very much want it there.

We officially have content.

So i get the "first content" award?
I understand big transformer reasoning however this guy http://www.masquesound.com/product.aspx?sku=s5713 (http://www.masquesound.com/product.aspx?sku=s5713) has been a standard for quite some time with flat response down to 30Hz and low distortion, while maintaining a low profile. Downside has always been price not performance.
If Sescom was having QC issues I can see Whirlwind looking for an alternative. If they can do it at a good price point with a good freq response and no "big square thing" then we have a winner.
So again, has anyone actually used it?

At what input level? You can't fit a transformer that will do volts in that enclosure. The form factor is convenient, but I wouldn't use it on anything important, just like I don't use $20 DIs either.
For isolation, I use this guy (http://www.radialeng.com/di-twiniso.htm) and a 1' XLR whip when I need it inline.
How do I insert an inline image in this software? My attachment has failed security checks? What does that mean? It's a picture of a Twin Iso direct from Radial's site... Why would it also not return me to this thread after I post?

I have the same problem. I guess we have not studied enough to pass.
I wonder how hard the test is
-
The info page that I linked on the Masque iso says "The Super ILT maintains frequency linearity down to 30 Hz and the distortion specifications are excellent, even at +18dB" Have I tested one on the bench, no... do they sound good, yes. Also, the "old" IL19's (before the "square thing") supposedly had the same specs as the newer bulbous ones. Again, never measured one but they always worked.
The Radial iso boxes are great but the barrel types are nice for a quick fix in the doghouse or video village etc.
Maybe some comparison measurements are in order. not as sexy as kick mic shootout but may be interesting.

At what frequency? I'm sure it has no problem doing that at 1kHz.

Used what? ::) ;D
Say, these emoticons look like crap :'(.
You might want to try a new thread with your question.

I can't even get an avatar to load on my profile. It tells me it is either to big or the wrong format or some to the effect. Perhaps some guidelines as there are none in the help section. A few have successfully have done it. How did you do it?
Feeling computer challenged right now,

Avatar size should be either 80x80 or probably less that 150kb..

My question is where's Dave. The REAL Dave...
-
I, too, am curious about attachments.
Here should be a picture of legendary CBS 30th St. Studios recording engineer Frank Laico and his wife at a little 92nd birthday party we had for him in December.
Hmmm, I click "choose file", get a file listed. There is a button below the "B" boldface one that says "insert images". Doing that gets a "img" "/img" (inside brackets) inserted into the body of the message. But, there seems to be no way to move the image file into the body of the message.
What's up?
Thanks,
Dan
Edit: Wait, there it is at the bottom of the message! But I don't see it in the edit; did I just erase it?
Looks like not; when I hit "post" to post the original message, a box appeared saying "Attached: Uncheck the attachments you no longer want attached" and it appeared. That box is still present in edit mode, so the pic must still be there.
Good that the attachments work, odd that they don't appear within the message body....

Attachments are just that pictures attached to the post.. Img tags are useful when the image is somewhere else on the web... :)

The confusion comes from the fact that attached images in the past were not actually "attachments", they were images stored on the server and inserted anywhere in the message via the image tag. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would prefer that method, but we have to work with what we've got. After the big issues are worked out we can start to deal with the smaller issues.

ps. Sorry, that was too hard to resist.

Ahh, thanks.
So does that mean that to use it you copy a URL and insert it between the parts of the image tag?
I'll try it:
That's the one that Bennett tried to post earlier of the Radial iso box.
That worked in preview....
Thanks,

Quite alright, you get used to it when you are a Dave/David. I worked so many places in the past where there were multiple Daves I tend to ignore it when someone calls that name - particularly my wife...
